China Food Expo (hereinafter referred to as CFE) is one of the professional expositions in food industry, and it is highly proposed by Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China. It has been staged 8 sessions, becoming one of the largest in scale, highest in level and the most popular expositions of China's food industry. Food Expo plays important roles in showcasing the latest achievements and brand image of food and related industries in China, in strengthening the technical exchanges and trade cooperation of food enterprises domestic and abroad and in pushing forward the healthy development of food safety，consumption and circulation.
The 8th CFE covered an exhibition area of 80,000 square meters. 3,042 companies from 35 countries and regions, 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China, participated in the trade show. Regular visitor amount reached 150,000. Trade visitor amount (including large-scale commercial retail chain companies, well-known catering chain companies and food franchisers) reached 32,000, which was 3.2 times compared to the previous show. Trade volume of on-site signing contracts and intentional projects reached RMB 12.5 billion, with a 17.3% growth compared to the previous session.
The 9th CFE will be held from September 15 to 18, 2013 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The main venue covered an exhibition area of 80,000 square meters. Twelve display sectors, including Most Powerful Food Brand Sector, International Food Sector, Comprehensive Food Sector, Szechwan Fancy Food Sector, Wine and Beverage Sector, Meat Sector, Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Sector, Tea Sector, Condiment and Food Raw Material Sector Functional Food Sector, Food Safety Demonstration Sector and International Gourmet Festival Sector, will be set up with 4,000 international standard booths.
